English summary: Breast cancer can be cured but patients gain weight
Post-diagnosis weight gain is a common problem among breast cancer patients. The factors associated with weight gain after diagnosis are still unknown. Weight gain during and after therapy may increase the risk of recurrence and decrease survival. Also, the risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease increases. We examined post-diagnosis weight change among breast cancer survivors. The purpose of this study was to investigate the frequency of weight gain after a longer follow-up time and the correlating factors. Furthermore, we suspected that there was a connection between weight gain and the hormonal changes caused by treatment.
